The soft 5B lead suits bold lines and shading. Vary the line by changing the angle of the tip or applying more or less pressure. The octagonal shape provides grip and helps reduce rolling.

The sharpener built into the push-button lets you reshape the lead. When the graphite runs out, refill the pencilcil with a compatible 5.6 mm lead.
